Cleaning up After Christmas
Merry Christmas Eve everyone, while you’re getting ready for bed we’re getting ready to clean up, here are some tips for cleaning up after the holiday is over and you’re ready to get the house back to normal. Enjoy these great Christmas tunes and fireplace!
The holidays are a great time of year to celebrate the relationships you must those you care about and are closest to you. But that seasonal sensation you get quickly fades with the year closing, so it’s time to get your home back in order. Getting your home tidied up can be a daunting task but will be great to get you to move forward into the new year. Here are a few tips for cleaning up after everyone has left.
Start with The Tree
The tree has served its purpose and it’s time to take it down. Whether plastic or live it is important to take care of taking it down. Here are a few ornament pointers:
– Christmas lights can be a tangled mess, wrap them around the end of empty wrapping paper. Loop the cord around the roll, starting with the side opposite to the plug, then insert the plug into the tube’s opening. If you‘ve already thrown away your gift wrap tubes, paper towel tubes work as well.
– A great way to store ornaments especially if you no longer have their original boxes is using leftover wrapping papery. Storing all of your ornaments in a bin while stacking them using an old blanket or your tree skirt is a great way to protect them.
Keep an Eye Out for Carpet Stains
Stains are the worst, the longer they sit the more difficult to remove. If your fresh out of your preferred carpet cleaning method here’s a quick homemade cleaner, you can whip up. Mix 2 parts warm water and 1-part mild dishwashing liquid and light apply to the stain. Blot with a clean towel and continue spraying and blotting until the stain is removed. Rinse with clear water and blot up again. Fluff the are and allow to dry.
Declutter is the Name of the Game
After the gift-giving is done and everyone has left, while you are putting away your decorations it’s time to take stock of what you may not need. Simply put, prioritize your new belongings with your old and consider what you may not need anymore or is no longer in use. If you have trouble parting ways, it’s time to utilize any storage you have. With anything, you are willing to part with considers donating it to your charity of choice and keep spreading that good Christmas cheer.
